I'm back
A brief update on She Speaks Softly moving forward
I needed to take a break from this space as I figured out what I wanted it to be. I started my Substack in 2023 at the end of my one year sabbatical because I wanted a venue to start sharing my creative work. At the time I didn’t have a business, but as my business evolved, it only seemed natural to include Substack as part of my ecosystem.
What’s clear to me now though, is that I want this space to be my intellectual and creative playground as well as a space for my craft writing. Part of being an entrepreneur has meant growing in my marketing writing skills. While that writing format and the content of it has some overlap, it has its own place, and as a creative writer, my craft writing is different.
I’ve found that marketing writing needs to be more immediately legible than my typical style, yet in my creative writing, the questions and topics I pose are not always readily legible. I want to reserve space for me to wrestle with big questions and challenge myself to enter new terrain creatively and intellectually, which I haven’t been doing lately.
What this looks like moving forward…
Stay tuned and subscribed here for:
Sunday Ritual in a new simplified format of an image, an affirmation and a reflection prompt. This will be weekly on Sundays.
Long form essays, poems and music on individual and collective human becoming through the lens of embodiment, creativity and futurism. I don’t have a set cadence for these pieces.
If you’d like more content specific to navigating life and career transitions, feel free to subscribe to my newsletter The Answering Years. Emails will still be reflective, yet shorter, and they will also offer insights that are more actionable.
Thanks for being here <3,

I understand. Substack is like my test ground for concepts.
